Московский государственный университет пищевых производств выбрал наиболее эффективный для себя метод по снижению объемов потребления электроэнергии - использование датчиков движения и присутствия. Датчики движения и присутствия, в случае отсутствия движения тел или объектов, излучающих тепловую энергию, обесточивают осветительный прибор и позволяет экономить электроэнергию, а в случае присутствия позволяют освещать помещение.
В соответвии с проектом озеленения территорий высшего учебного заведения у здания главного учебного корпуса расположен парадный сквер. У главного входа в здании расположен фонтан. Все здания вуза соеденены удобными и кратчайшими дорогами.
Университетская территория является специфическим объектом городской среды. Так называемый «культурный ландшафт» сочетает в себе все компоненты образовательного процесса: обучение, отдых и досуг, социальную коммуникацию, проживание, питание, таким образом образуя уникальную интеллектуальную среду, сообщество. Помимо организации удобной и комфортной структуры учебного заведения, важным фактором при реконструкции является создание идентичного пространства, формирование собственных традиций и ценностей.
Основные задачи реконструкции и благоустройства:
- создание удобной и правильно организованной структуры с учетом современных и специфических потребностей РОСБИОТЕХ;
- строительство нового здания общежития с дополнительными функциями, обеспечивающими по мощностным показателям необходимый резерв для развития учебного заведения;
- формирование единой архитектурно-пространственной среды, отвечающей современным требованиям и представлениям о комфорте не только участников образовательного процесса, но и жителей прилегающих территорий;
- создание единого и уникального стилевого решения ландшафта как основы, объединяющей элементы учебной среды;
- обеспечение удобной пешеходной доступности ко всем подразделениям учебного комплекса.
Концепция развития территории структурирует территорию и выделяет следующие функциональные зоны и их программное наполнение:
Публичная (общественная) зона - обеспечивает общий транспортный и пешеходный доступ к основным входам учебного и научно-технического корпусов. Территория включает в себя подход к основному учебному корпусу со стороны Волоколамского шоссе, организацию площади перед входом и обеспечение сквозного прохода к зданию научно-технологического корпуса с выходом на ул.Врубеля.
На пересечении главных планировочных осей расположена просторная многофункциональная площадь «Событий». Помимо обеспечения внутренних связей, зона предполагает и внешние связи, допускающие организацию массовых мероприятий (ярмарок, торжеств) с привлечением общественности, что соответствует современным представлениям о высших учебных заведениях как о многофункциональном, инновационном центре, бизнес-инкубаторе.
Рекреационная зона, основным назначением которой является коммуникация внутреннего сообщества, отдых и досуг студентов; расположена во внутреннем дворе основного учебного корпуса.
Спортивная зона определена проектом слева от технологического здания на месте существующей парковки. В настоящее время территория не используется в полной мере. Площадь территории позволяет размещение дополнительных открытых площадок для занятий спортом (футболом, волейболом, баскетболом и т.п.); Жилая зона объединяет жилой массив внутридворовых жилых территорий вдоль ул.Панфилова; новой фокусной точкой является площадка спорта и отдыха при новом корпусе общежития; Жилая - огороженные участки жилых домов внутри границ благоустройства;
Транспортная инфраструктура включает проезды и автопарковки;
Коммунальная - существующий подсобный двор для размещения гаража дополняется размещением мастерских по обслуживанию и ремонту, складских помещений и т.п.

The university territory is a specific object of the urban environment. The so-called "cultural landscape" combines all components of the educational process: training, recreation and leisure, social communication, accommodation, food, thus forming a unique intellectual environment, community. In addition to organizing a convenient and comfortable structure of the educational institution, an important factor in the reconstruction is the creation of an identical space, forming your own traditions and values.
In view of this, the following decisions were made for landscaping the university territory. The current situation, peculiarities of the location and environment of this territory determine the main tasks of reconstruction and improvement:
- creation of a convenient and properly organized structure taking into account modern and specific needs of the Moscow State University of Food Production;
- construction of a new dormitory building with additional functions that provide the necessary reserve for the development of the educational institution in terms of capacity indicators;
- formation of the uniform architectural and spatial environment meeting modern requirements and representations about comfort not only participants of educational process, but also inhabitants of adjacent territories;
- creation of a unified and unique style solution to the landscape as a basis that combines elements of the educational environment;
- providing convenient pedestrian access to all subdivisions of the educational complex.
The concept of territory development structures the territory and allocates the following functional zones and their software content:
Public ( social ) zone - provides common transport and pedestrian access to the main entrances of the educational and scientific and technical buildings. The territory includes the approach to the main educational building from the side of Volokolamskoe highway, organization of the square in front of the entrance and providing a through passage to the building of scientific and technological building with the exit to Vrubel street.
At the intersection of the main planning axes is a spacious multifunctional area "Events". In addition to providing internal links, the zone also provides external links that allow for the organization of mass events (fairs, celebrations) with the involvement of the public, which corresponds to modern concepts of higher education institutions as a multifunctional, innovative center, business incubator.
The Recreation Zone, the main purpose of which is to communicate with the internal community, recreation and leisure of students, is located in the courtyard of the main academic building.
The sports area is defined by the project to the left of the technological building on the site of the existing parking lot. At present, the territory is not fully used. The area of the territory allows to place additional outdoor areas for sports activities (soccer, volleyball, basketball, etc.); the Living Area unites a residential area of inner courtyard residential areas along Panfilov St.; a new focal point is a sports and recreation area with a new dormitory building; the Living Area is an enclosed area of residential buildings within the boundaries of landscaping;
Transport infrastructure includes passages and parking lots;
Utility - the existing auxiliary yard to accommodate the garage is supplemented by the placement of maintenance and repair workshops, storage facilities, etc.
